Smoked sesame BBQ sauce
Ingredients
for 4 dl
1 tbsp | Fine Food Olio oliva extra vergine |
2 | shallots, finely chopped |
2 | garlic cloves, finely chopped |
½ dl | soy sauce |
½ dl | fresh coffee |
4 tbsp | maple syrup |
3 tbsp | whisky |
250 g | chopped tomatoes |
1 tbsp | tomato puree |
4 tbsp | cane sugar |
½ tsp | rosemary, finely chopped |
chilli flakes, to taste | |
1 ½ tbsp | Fine Food Smoked Sesame Salt |
How it's done
Heat the oil in a pan, sauté the shallots and garlic for approx. 1 min. Pour in the soy sauce along with all the other ingredients up to and including the whiskey. Add the tomatoes and all the other ingredients up to and including the salt. Simmer the sauce over a low heat for approx. 30 mins., stirring occasionally until the sauce thickens. Remove the pan from the heat, leave to cool.
